Mount Washington Observatory
Since its establishment in 1932, the Mt. Washington Observatory has
contributed to landmark research efforts in short-wave radio
propagation, ice physics, the constitution of clouds, and the
composition of the atmosphere. The Climate Change Research Center
collaborates on research projects that address summit weather and
climate, regional air quality and global tropospheric chemistry.
For further information about the research being done on the Northeast’s highest peak, please visit the
Mt. Washington Observatory’s web page.
